Roster Changes

Hi Boys,

We’ve had a small roster change. Aidan Docherty suffered a season ending injury, as such Steve Toews has been traded to the Blackhawks to cover the position. To fill the open spot on the Rangers, please welcome back Ron Logan to a full-time Simons position. He was splitting the year with Pat Kobayashi. But Ron has agreed and paid (right!?) to come back to the league. The replacement player to split the year with Pat has yet to be determined.

Cheers,

A Great Start

The Bruins Are Simons 2012-2013 Champions

Boys,

On Friday March 22nd, the Bruins solidified an incredible season by capturing the Simons Playoff Champion’s Trophy. It was a hard fought game. Which saw the Bruins come back from a 3-0 deficit, to defeat the red hot Red Wings 4-3. “Our team motto was never give up, and it paid off big time in the finals.” Team Captain Derek Gee speaking after the game.

Bruins Playoff/Season Victory

The Bruins started out of the gate this season with a bang going 6-0-1 in the first seven games of the season.

“We knew if we just stuck to our game, our style of play, we could beat anyone.” said Derek, after posting final season record of 14-3-3. The record was enough to secure the President’s Trophy.

Congratulations to the Simons Bruins and their outstanding season.

Balancing Act

Gentlemen:

As you know, the intent of the Simons Hockey League is tot have 6 teams that are as equal as we can make them so they are all competitive with each other.

As usual, after 10 games (playing each team twice), the captains met last night and made a number of trades. No one player was traded for another specific player, but rather players were moved from team to team to balance the teams as much as possible, for the rest of the year. There will be no further trades this year, this is now your team !!

5:15PM – Red Wings (H) vs Canadiens
5:45PM – Rangers vs Maple Leafs (H)
6:45PM – Bruins (H) vs Blackhawks

ACTION REQUIRED: If your name is on the list below, and you were previously with the RED WINGS or the CANADIANS, you need to have your sweater turned in before the 1st game tomorrow for the new players on your old team.

Injury Incident Last Night

Guys,

To anyone who hasn’t seen or heard about last night. Paul Gruber sustained injuries to his ribs and back last night. He caught an edge while round the net last night and collided with the boards. He is OK and is being treated in hospital. Paul has been an up standing player and teammate through out his year’s in Simons. The entire league’s thoughts are with him. We wish him a quick recovery. We all want to see him back on the ice in due time.

Cheers,
